If I have the funds I would totally and literally renovate the airport, pains my eyes when I see foreign people not experiencing any hospitality at all. And boracay is already crowded. El Nido is nothing special. Which is why I would rather go to other places. It is not a beach where you can go alone and be peaceful. There are hired people assigned to clean the beach at dawn and during dusk to keep it clean. Sorry about your experience. The concept of jamming people into a conveyance like sardines seems to me to be very Filipino. You said it was a small island so being the most visited island you should expect a lot of people. I grew up in Bohol and I am proud of our beaches. A piece of advice if you travel always be in your positive aura and everything will be a beautiful experience.
